Good and Bad Logo Designs
I chose this design as a good logo design because, the viewer can tell exactly what the brand/company is by just simply looking at the design. By simply looking at this design you can tell that this logo is promoting a sushi restaurant. I enjoy how the designer incorporated the restaurant name in the design by adding different colors of sliced salmon/sushi to create a traffic light. The only thing that I really don’t love about this design is the fonts that they used for the title. I would have liked to see more variety and contrast in the text. Other than that I love this design and think it successfully displays the company and what it has to offer to an audience.
I stubbled across this unique logo which I believe is a logo for a summer clothing store and surf shop. I really enjoy this logo design because of it’s simplicity. It is a simple but effective design as it really just screams summer with the waves cutting into most of the letters and then the cut out birds inside the “O.” I could honestly see myself buying a t shirt with this logo on it. The logo is simple, clean, and gives the viewer a sense of the company that this logo is representing.
I used this example as a good logo because I enjoy how the designer created a mummy head out of film. This shows the audience that this is a logo for movie production company. I always enjoy when designers use a play on words in their work. In this example the designer literally took camera film and designed it so that it looked like a mummy head due to the name of the company. This design is simple and minimalistic with the mummy head. I also really enjoy the contrast in the text here by using a thick serif font and a thin sans serif font for the company name.
I am sure you can figure out for yourself why this is such a bad logo design. The figures in this design seem to be placed very awkwardly. This logo does not look like it is trying to promote children’s health and safety in any way… I don’t believe this would be a terrible logo design if it wasn’t for the very awkward and inappropriate figures that were added to represent an adult and child. I also don’t really like how the text is stacked up on each other. This design just overall is not working and is giving the viewer a very wrong impression of what the company is all about. This needs to be totally redesigned.
Another just poorly designed logo. No variety or contrast in the text. Has no color just simply black and grey. The figure looks nothing like a mom cooking. It looks like their is a fire in her pelvic area. Everything about the figure of this mother is wrong. This does not even slightly make me think of baking. If anything this should be a logo for UTI medication or something. I don’t think this logo is working at all. Someone really needs to redesign this logo ASAP!
I hope this restaurant did not pay someone to create this logo because it is god awful. Not really sure why they chose to use these colors for a sports bar. The color scheme is making my eyes shake and vibrate. Everything is too bright and the colors clash. I also hate how “Sports Bar ’N’ Grille” is just slapped in the middle of the circle with no relation to the other text or design at all. Everything about this design is just wrong. I don’t think there is one thing that I like about this logo. None of this screams sports bar and grille to me. The logo looks like a 4th grader made it. The colors, the text, the layout, and the add elements like the baseball are just not working for this logo design...
